All high speed chases lead to Oak Street

There is a great temptation to jazz this stuff up, referring to the local police as gendarmes and the riff-raff as a gang of highly competent international technology smugglers. But, that would just be wrong.

When police signaled for the man to stop his vehicle because of a driving violation the driver ignored police lights and instead continued on for a few blocks at the same speed, said Mt. Pleasant Police Public Information Officer Jeff Browne.

Eventually the passenger answered the door of the residence and got into a scuffle with an officer before being arrested for resisting and obstructing.

I actually came across this on my way home from work. The fun stuff must have already happened, because it was mostly just cops going through the car with a dog.
