Grilled venison medallions with cranberry relish

Got a jump on grilling season the other night. Had some venison medallions from the local coop that I tossed on the portable gas for a couple of minutes on each side. Topped them with a cranberry relish made with orange juice, red wine, and some ghost pepper maple syrup I got from a local syrup maker a couple of years ago (it hangs out in my freezer).

My favorite go-to side is green beans sauteed in garlic and olive oil and tossed with a squeeze of tomato paste and concentrated basil and with a dusting of Parmesan cheese.

It was a warm Friday night, so I had a very dirty martini alongside it.
