new ribbon for the Royal O

There’s a Royal O portable in my office at work. I bought it soon after starting as part of a collection. Based on its condition, I underpaid a bit for it but overpaid for other piece in the collection so it evened out.

It works, but the ribbon was old and dried out. I bought a replacement over the weekend. Today, I officially replaced the ribbon and gave it a whirl.

I’m reading American Prometheus right now, or at least reading it in batches of pages.

In our morning check-in meeting, I announced that I’d swapped out the typewriter. My boss asked me if I tested out the new one. I told her I had. She asked me what I typed. To the snickering of my coworkers, I rattled off, “I am become Death, destroyer of worlds.”

As you can see, it types beautifully. Should probably dust it, tho.
